Tin Machine

9/10. Holy shit, this album is so good. Probably his hardest album ever, it's abrasive, it's punky, it's everything good about the 90s. Following the... underwhelming critical and commercial responses to his mid to late 80s albums, Bowie decided to abandon his solo career for a time. He even considered retiring from music entirely. Thankfully, he instead decided to form a band: Tin Machine. In 1989, they released a self-titled album. As I mentioned before, this album is hard, and Bowie sounds angry. Some highlights are Heaven's In Here, Crack City, Baby Can Dance, and the title track. John Lennon cover Working Class Hero sees an incredible guitar solo and one of my favorite vocal performances from Bowie. I think the best song off this album is Under the God. Bowie is livid on this track, ripping on racists, fascists, and corruption. Sadly, you can change like three words, and this song would still be relevant today. Hopefully, one day it won't be.
