6/10. Lodger sees Bowie return to the more guitar-driven composition of his earlier albums. It is probably his rockiest album since Aladdin Sane, maybe even since Man Who Sold the World. Lodger is a concept album, which allowed Bowie to write songs that wouldn't have fit as well in his other late-70s albums. A few favorites are Fantastic Voyage, African Night Flight, D.J., and Look Back in Anger. It's worth checking out if you already like David Bowie, but if he's not your thing, it won't change your mind about him.
